eegee’s to launch first Phoenix location
On Thursday, July 15, Tucson-based fast food brand eegee’s will open its first Valley location in Gilbert, at the southwest corner of Baseline Road and Val Vista Drive. Located at 3535 E. Baseline Road, the restaurant will open for on-site and take-out dining, offering online orders and contactless pickup. To celebrate the brand’s debut in the valley, eegee’s has teamed up with several local partners, including artist Timmy Ham, Fox Restaurant Concepts’ beverage director Mat Snapp, and musician Jacob Morris, to create unique offers for the grand opening and beyond.
“We are fortunate to have such loyal fans across Arizona and we are touched by the support and warm welcome we have received in the Valley so far,” said Ron Petty, CEO of eegee’s. “We look forward to celebrating our first opening in Phoenix, meeting our new neighbors in Gilbert, and continuing to expand across the valley in the months to come.”
Founded in 1971, eegee’s has cultivated a loyal Tucsonans customer base and prides itself on its long history of providing fresh, high quality food to its 28 locations with its opening in Gilbert. Its most recent location will be 3,515 square feet and is designed for guest convenience. The bright and open concept includes a drop-in order counter, a spacious dining room, as well as a drive-through window.
Phoenicians will now be able to enjoy eeegee’s unique offering of its namesake frozen drink – a frozen concoction filled with chunks of real fruit – award-winning fries, subs and signature grinders. Many dishes on the restaurant’s menu have a devoted following, including its everyday eegee flavors such as lemon, strawberry, pina colada, and lean berry; his specialty fries with ranch dressing and signature bacon; The Original Grinder served on white, wheat or rye bread, fresh daily; salads such as Southwest Chipotle Ranch Chicken; and more. eegee’s is also known for its rotating menu of monthly eegee flavors, such as Lucky Lime, Watermelon, and Orange Dream.
The restaurant teams up with several local taste makers, including artist Timmy Ham, mixologist Mat Snapp and musician Jacob Morris. “Collaborating with Phoenix-based artists and industry influencers made sense as we entered a new market, as we have always kept the local community at the heart of our concerns,” said Petty. On opening day, eegee guests can celebrate with:
- Gifts and gifts: Popular valley artist and designer, Timmy Ham (AKA @iamsloth) designed a unique eegee sticker in honor of the opening. Customers can take one sticker per order while supplies last. In addition, there will be a limited number of “special edition” stickers — those who receive a lucky sticker will receive free eegee for one year.
- Beats and vibrations: To set the mood for the grand opening, eegee teamed up with Gilbert’s country and local music artist, Jacob Morris (@jacobmorrisofficiel), to organize a “Vibees” playlist and record a performance exclusively for eegee’s. Watch the performance on eegee’s Instagram and connect to the playlist here.
- T-shirt time: eegee’s has partnered with Valley mixologist and Fox Restaurant Concepts’ beverage director Mat Snapp to create custom eegee cocktails, the Teekees, to enhance the restaurant’s famous frozen drink. To create the cocktails at home, follow eegee’s on Instagram for recipes posted throughout August.
After opening at Baseline Road and Val Vista Drive, eegee’s will be opening locations in Gilbert, Mesa and Phoenix this year.
The new eegee is located at 3535 E. Baseline Road in Gilbert. Restaurant hours are Monday to Sunday, 9:30 am to 9:00 pm; the drive-thru service remains open until 10 p.m.
