Freshly makes its first foray into plant-based meals | 2021-08-09
NEW YORK – Freshly Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nestlé USA, is launching its first line of plant-based meals that offer a blend of classic comfort food and world-inspired cuisine.
The new Purely Plant meals contain proprietary blends of plant proteins, including pea protein mixed with vegetables, legumes, seeds, legumes and whole grains. All six meals are gluten-free and can be reheated and served in three minutes with no prep required.
Rainbow Harvest Herbal Burger is made with pea protein, spicy lentils, quinoa, avocado, celery, tomatoes and cauliflower and topped with a sticky carrot jam seasoned with paprika, of garlic and onion. The burger is served with sautéed mushrooms, green beans, tomatoes and carrots.
Indian Spiced Chickpea Curry Bowl contains pea protein, coconut milk, chickpeas, brown lentils, cauliflower, peas, tomatoes, celery, onions and potatoes spiced with turmeric, ginger, cilantro, garam masala, cilantro and lime, all served on a bed of basmati rice.
Unwrapped Burrito Salsa Verde contains pure vegetable crumbles, made with yellow peas, mushrooms, pinto beans and spices. The crumbles are tossed with roasted sweet potatoes, carrots, peppers, black beans, and pinto beans, all topped with cilantro, tomatillo, and green chili salsa verde and served over brown rice.
Farmstead Veggie Baked Pasta features brown rice and lentil macaroni mixed with seasonal vegetables and a coconut milk marinara sauce.
Buffalo Cauliflower Macaroni features brown rice and lentil macaroni in a sauce made with tahini sauce, nutritional yeast, almond and cashew butter, and hot sauce. The pasta is served with a side of garlic broccoli.
The Middle Eastern Falafel Bowl features falafels filled with fiber and herbs, served with peppers, lentils, quinoa, brown rice, and wild rice and topped with a garlic tahini sauce.
